MARICOPA COUNTY COURT TOWER- I am extremely excited to announce that i was selected to design approximately 75,000 sq ft of terrazzo artwork for the new Maricopa County Court Tower. The enormity of the court tower project in both scale and significance is beyond exciting. My designs were inspired by the land of Maricopa County itself, with it’s organized lines of agriculture and urban spaces playing against the more organic lines of rivers, washes and mountain ranges. Visually i hope to convey a stylized patchwork landscape flowing throughout the massive 15-story structure. The Court Tower is expected to be complete for Arizona’s centennial in February 2012

MESA ART CENTER- The Mesa Art Center has become a valley landmark and has garnered national respect for its brave and engaging shows; it’s unique gallery spaces and top-notch facilities. I am excited to be acting “artist in residence” in the glass studio for the spring 2011 season.

SCOTTSDALE PUBLIC ART- I am currently in the materials research and development phase, working with Scottsdale Public Art for their “Belle Tower Project”. The concept behind “Sanctarium” is to engage public notions of place making within contemporary society while commenting on architectural ornamentation and individual concepts of “sanctuary”. More information and proposal images can be found on the Public Art page of this website. The project is scheduled to be completed in late 2012.

TEMPE CENTER FOR THE ARTS- To celebrate their three-year anniversary, the TCA has selected an exhibition featuring works on glass, art made of glass and artists inspired by glass. The curator and jury did a wonderful job organizing and hanging the show within such a truly remarkable building. Three of my art glass assemblages are included in the exhibit which runs until April 9th 2011.

PRACTICAL ART- This charming “Fine Craft” boutique features strictly utilitarian arts and craft creations from local artisans and has been carrying a selection of my unique fused glass ware for years. Check out their website for more information or simply stop in for a cup of tea and a have a look around. Their Phoenix gallery is located just north of Camelback on Central Avenue and is worth a visit.
