I was born beneath the huge, open sky of Northeastern Texas. Every summer my family and i would undertake an eighteen hour road trip to the Pinaleno Mountains and Gila Valley of Eastern Arizona where ancestors from both sides of my family had settled in the mid 1800s. By the time i was eighteen i was rambling for months on the road, hitchhiking around the western United States. Within a couple of years i made my way to Europe where i discovered the stained glass of the post World War II Germans and for the first time began to consider the use of glass as a dynamic medium of artistic expression.
Since that time i have traveled extensively throughout America, Canada, India, Nepal and Thailand. In addition to the inspiration and lessons gleaned from the various landscapes, people and cultures encountered on my travels, i have had the extreme good fortune to study Art Glass design and technique from renowned artist such as Richard Millard, Sylvia Nicolas, C.Z. Lawrence, and Patrick Reyntiens. As a perpetual student, i continue to expand my glass and design repertoire through intimate workshops, annual conferences and daily practice.
I have completed numerous Art Glass installations for religious, commercial and private spaces in Arizona, California, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Maine and South Dakota. In 2008 i created 10,000 sq ft of original terrazzo artwork commissioned through the Phoenix Office of Arts and Culture for the new Phoenix Convention Center. I am currently working on an enormous public art project for the new Maricopa County Court Tower where i am designing approximately 75,000 sq ft of terrazzo to flow throughout the 15 story building.
Presently, i work out of my home studio in old town Tempe AZ and have broadened my annual migration route to include Exeter NH and the forest regions of Northern New England. My family continues to gather in the summer months at a rustic sanctuary atop Mount Graham in the Pinaleno Mountains, more then 150 years after first settling into the wilds of the American Southwest.
“Troy’s knowledge and respect for the art and craft of stained glass is highly impressive and his craftsmanship is beyond reproach. I couldn’t be happier with our custom stained glass and we are looking forward to our next.”
        Robert Collum, Tempe AZ

“My husband and I were very impressed with the artistic flair and professional care Troy demonstrated throughout our contact with him. He was able to incorporate our artistic thoughts, desires and life style into a lovely and unique Art Glass creation. Troy is a joy to work with and a masterful artist besides, anyone would be pleased with his creativity and great work ethic!”
        Julie Johnson, Scottsdale AZ

“I can not say enough about the professionalism, craftsmanship and talent Troy exhibited in all our dealings. The artwork he created for our home is a thing of beauty and continually draws lavish compliments from our visiting friends and family. I would have no reservations recommending him to anyone interested in commissioning truly fine stained glass.”
       Doyle Royer, Chandler AZ

“Words cannot express our satisfaction with the beautiful windows Troy crafted to blend with the unique architecture of our historic phoenix home. He is a master at what he does and we are continually amazed at his vision and talent.“
